Hi there. Are there any plans for giving this product support for SSMS 2012?

I'm also wondering this. Anyone?

No update? This question has been outstanding a long time so I'm guessing that the code is no longer maintained, which is a shame - it's a nice little feature. Maybe I'll have a look at the code and see if it's doable in SSMS 2012...

This does work for me in SSMS 2012 32bit, Windows 7 Pro 64bit, SP 1

Download from SVN and make the following modifications, so far seems to work.
  • Add References for EnvDTE100(not sure if it was needed), SqlPackageBase (xx\Microsoft SQL Server\110\Tools\Binn\ManagementStudio\SqlPackageBase.dll)
  • Line 143 - if (System.IO.Path.GetFullPath(filename).ToUpper().StartsWith(System.IO.Path.GetTempPath().ToUpper())) // is temp...
    Issue with my AD account had my temp path with ~1, may not be an issue for some people.
  • Build Solution
  • SSMSAddin.Addin - Modify Assembly to the full path of DLL "xx\Bin\SSMSPlusAddin.DLL"
  • Copy SSMSAddin.addin to one of the locations for SSMS 2012 addins, search google if you have questions on this

Your solution does not work for me (SSMS 11.0.2100.60 32-bit, Windows Server 2012 R2). I tried putting the SSMSAddIn.AddIn file to the following locations:
c:\ProgramData\Microsoft\SQL Server Management Studio\11.0\Addins\
c:\ProgramData\Microsoft Visual Studio\Addins\
c:\Users\Andrey\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\MSEnvShared\Addins\
There is no error message, the addin simply doesn't work.

I made it work with the changes given by NewkyNet, but I also had to modify the SSMSAddIn.AddIn file:

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-16" standalone="no"?>
<Extensibility xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/AutomationExtensibility">
<HostApplication>
    <Name>Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio</Name>
    <Version>*</Version>
</HostApplication>
<Addin>
    <FriendlyName>SSMSAddIn</FriendlyName>
    <Description>SSMSAddIn</Description>
    <Assembly>C:\Program Files (x86)\BlueHub Solutions\SSMS Plus\SSMSPlusAddin.dll</Assembly>
    <FullClassName>SSMSAddIn.Connect</FullClassName>
    <LoadBehavior>1</LoadBehavior>
    <CommandPreload>0</CommandPreload>
    <CommandLineSafe>0</CommandLineSafe>
</Addin>
</Extensibility>

I switched to ApexSQL Search which has the same tab autorename functionality built in.
